We know that that customer demand for local food has never been stronger. Whether you are a restaurant, processor, school, food buyer, or grocer we know that you have a growing interest in purchasing local foods.
But you also know that to get a broad range of products you have to have connections with a variety of producers, which can be complicated and time consuming. Big River Foods allows you to purchase local products from one distributor, adding efficiency and enhancing the producer/buyer relationship.
How Does it Work?
Big River Foods offers twice a week deliveries during the growing season from our farm distribution center, near Stillwater.
Each week you will receive a produce availability sheet and you will be contacted weekly by the BRF coordinator to discuss orders.
Your orders are transferred to the farmers, harvested and delivered. Because your order is not sitting around the warehouse, you will receive the freshest product possible.
If you are a larger institution and deal with contract bidding, we can facilitate that as well.
If there is any local product that BRF isn’t offering that you would like, please let us know and we will work hard to make it available.

What are the Grower Guidelines and Standards?
- Eliminate or reduce any use of chemical inputs.
- Practice Good Agricultural Practices and Good Handling Practices to ensure food safety on the farm.
- No use of GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms).
- Understand and practice soil conservation.
- Understand and practice water conservation and protection.
- Understand and practice energy conservation.
- Provide fair wages and safe work environment for all farm employees.
